It’s time for the US government to level with us about UAP

The US government has finally acknowledged that Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, otherwise known as UAP or UFOs, are real.

Most of the UAP reported probably do represent physical objects given that a majority of UAP were registered across multiple sensors, to include radar, infrared, electro-optical, weapon seekers, and visual observation.” Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
Department of Defense UAP Task Force (UAPTF)
June 25, 2021
Regarding review or analysis of UAP events, ODNI and AARO operate under the assumption that UAP reports are derived from the observer’s accurate recollection of the event and/or sensors that generally operate correctly and capture enough real data to allow initial assessments.” 2022 Annual Report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
Department of Defense All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO)
January 12, 2023
UAP pose a safety of flight and collision hazard to air assets, potentially requiring aircraft operators to adjust flight patterns in response to their unauthorized presence in the airspace, operating outside of air traffic control standards and instruction.” 2022 Annual Report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
Department of Defense All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO)

We know that our service members have encountered Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, and because UAPs pose potential flight safety and general security risks, we are committed to a focused effort to determine their origins.” Ronald Moultrie, Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security (USDI&S)

There are a small handful of cases in which we have more data, that our analysis simply hasn't been able to fully pull together a picture of what happened. And those are the cases where we talk about, where we see some indications of flight characteristics or signature management that are not what we'd expected.” Scott Bray, Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI)
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, C3 Subcommittee UAP Hearing

The UAPTF holds a small amount of data that appear to show UAP demonstrating acceleration or a degree of signature management… We are conducting further analysis to determine if breakthrough technologies were demonstrated.” Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
Department of Defense UAP Task Force (UAPTF)
June 25, 2021
In 18 incidents, described in 21 reports, observers reported unusual UAP movement patterns or flight characteristics. Some UAP appeared to remain stationary in winds aloft, move against the wind, maneuver abruptly, or move at considerable speed, without discernible means of propulsion.” Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena

UAP Shapes from Project SIGN (1949) UAP Shapes from AARO (2023) This is a typical example of the thing that we see most of. We see these all over the world, and we see these making very interesting apparent maneuvers.”

These aerial objects, also reportedly observed in space and underwater, look and behave like many popular accounts of UFOs from the past seventy-five years.

Almost all of the government’s images, videos, intelligence assessments, and other data regarding UAP remain classified Top Secret.

It’s time for the DoD and Executive Branch to level with the public about these mysterious objects, which have now held our fascination for generations.

The UAP declassification process must preserve our national security interests – but this can no longer be used as an excuse to broadly withhold information from the public.

One of Congress' concerns is that the Executive Branch, in administrations of both parties, has been sweeping concerns about UAPs under the rug by focusing on events that can be explained and avoiding events that cannot be explained.” Representative André Carson (D-IN 7th)

Where information does not risk national security it should be shared with our allies and the public when feasible.” Representative Rick Crawford (R-AR 1st)

It is also the responsibility of our Government and this panel to share as much as we can with the American people, since excessive secrecy only breeds distrust and speculation.”

I think it's one of the few times we can demonstrate some degree of bipartisanship, around UAPs and UFOs, so I love it, appreciate it, thank you.” Representative André Carson (D-IN 7th)

In the recent [February 2023] incidents where multiple objects were shot down over North America it seemed that Pentagon leadership did not turn to AARO office to play a leading role in advising the combatant commander.” Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
